Clytostoma callistegioides – ‘Lavender Trumpet Vine’
Description
Lavender Trumpet Vine is a rapidly growing, spreading evergreen broadleaf vine that easily climbs up fences and over arbors with clinging tendrils. It quickly climbs to 4.5 to 7 metres with a 3 to 4.5 metre spread. Glossy dark green foliage makes a pretty contrast to the large lavender trumpet shaped flowers that bloom profusely from spring through fall. Flowers have a darker purple venation that gives them a rustic painted appearance. Lavender Trumpet Vine is an excellent cover-up for chain link fences and lends a cottage garden feel to your landscape. It likes full sun or partial shade, but will produce more flowers in sun. Pruning is recommended to control size.
